PARADIS PROVENCE

Tomorrow and the next day too, we will have days no different from this when the blue and golden moments glide by, days when suspended time stands still, merciful days where shadows come from a drawn curtain, a closed door or leafy trees, and not from an overcast sky.  Colette

The Deux fleurs flacon was designed by René Lalique in 1935.

Paradis Provence is the essence of the land we call Provence, paradise on earth.

Fields of blue lavande, thyme, orange blossoms, sunflowers following the golden Sun, ancient olive trees, the sky that turns pink as it touches the azure of the Mediterranean and amorous nights drenched in jasmine.

Where the solar energy lights your soul. the golden sunshine warms your skin, and soft breezes caress your senses…, a feeling of deep relaxation prevails.

Paradis Provence is the fragrance of the eternal summer – of our youth, our imagination and our passion.  A happy summer of blue salt and                                                                                                crystal.

The parfum is a solar composition of lavande absolut, thyme and orange blossoms.

It carries you to the days of blue and gold and warms your soul with it’s sunlight.

Lavande absolut is the purest essence of this blue flower that is the heart of Provence. The sight of rows of endless blue in the summer is magnificent.

The parfum captures the essence of lavender that insights courage and encourages you to share your True self with others.

Thyme with it’s golden beam of light, cleanses and heals. It opens your heart to receive love.

Orchards of orange blossoms laden by the bees, swaying in breeze, scent the air. The orange absolut carries the glorious energy of joy and abundance.

Paradis Provence is created by Maurice Roucel inspired by the “myth” of Provence.

This is the fourth parfum in a series created by Shalini and Maurice. The four parfums  reflect the changing moods and passions of the soul.

Paradis Provence is presented in the limited edition Lalique crystal flacon ”Deux Fleurs”.  Rene Lalique used the symbol of “vesica piscis” in this exquisite flacon representing the creative life force from which everything begins.

Paradis Provence will be launching this autumn at select luxury retailers.

The parfum is available in the limited edition Lalique crystal flacon for $2700.

Also available in the Cubique Glass bottle with a Black Bulb atomizer  for $500.

Exciting news around 13 featured Perfumers, including Givaudan Perfumer Rodrigo Flores-Roux- in an innovative & experiential new Perfumery exhibit which opened on February 14th and will run through June 16th at MUDAC: The Museum of Contemporary Design and Applied Arts, in Lausanne, Switzerland.

In the exhibition Nez à nez– Contemporary perfumers, the trajectory and creative processes of those working in the complex and demanding world of perfumery is presented. The aim is to give the public access to some of the insider secrets of a creative medium that touches us all. At MUDAC, the idea of an exhibition on perfumery was long in the works. Like fashion, the creation of perfume is an applied art: a craft that must take into account how the end-product will be used. Perfume-making is a specialized discipline that requires extensive expertise and no shortage of creative curiosity. Perfumers compose, blend, assemble, assess, sniff… and tell a story.

To show just how complex and diverse the world of perfumery is, the exhibition spotlights the creations of thirteen perfumers from various countries and backgrounds: men and women, at different stages of their careers, working independently, as head of their own brand or for a perfume house. MUDAC teamed up with the perfumers themselves and the experts from the specialist magazine Nez to select three fragrances by each creator to feature in the exhibition.

Nez à nez presents the perfumer’s art at three different levels: the individual creator’s experience, in the form of interviews; common themes uniting the work of two or three perfumers; and general information introducing the craft. For mudac, the main challenge was how to present something as intangible as scent in a museum context where the visual dominates. How could we display fragrances without influencing the public’s perception of them, and keep perfume centre stage? For a solution, they turned to Sarah van Gameren and Tim Simpson of the studio Glithero, who have created six olfactory installations that take visitors on a poetic, sensorial journey into the world of scents. Design thus plays an essential role in elevating the art of perfume.

In parallel, Le Musée de la Main UNIL-CHUV will hold an exhibition entitled What a Nose! Scents and Feelings, in which visitors will be invited to discover the amazing powers of humans’ often under-appreciated sense of smell. The exhibition will include a large array of sensorial experiences and art installations and explore the way our sense of smell contributes to how we perceive our bodies and those of others, as well as how we understand ourselves and relate to the world. The two museums will host joint events throughout both exhibitions.

The illustrated book, Sentir – ressentir. Parfumeurs, odeurs et émotions, is a joint publication that revisits and elaborates upon the olfactory experiences presented in the exhibitions, Nose to Nose – Contemporary perfumers at mudac, and What a Nose! Scents and Feelings at Le Musée de la Main UNIL-CHUV. Experts from a range of fields share their points of view on the creation of perfumes and how smell is tied to emotion.

Symrise Master Perfumer Emilie Coppermann received the prestigious Prix François Coty at a ceremony at the Château D’Artagny on December 3rd.. Veronique Coty, president of the François Coty Association, presented the award. The prize is designed to highlight the extraordinary character of the laureate and her creative work.

Symrise Master Perfumer Emilie Coppermann with Veronique Coty and Karin Viard

The Château D’Atargny is the former home of the founder of the Prix François Coty. The historic place provided a decorous setting for the award ceremony. This year, Emilie Coppermann, Master Perfumer with Symrise Paris, took home the Lalique trophy, La Vitesse. “I feel very honored to receive this highly coveted prize within the perfumery industry. To me, it comes as a precious token for my creative work as perfumer. It will inspire me to continue my fragrant path for a better living through scent”, says Emilie Coppermann. The award ceremony will be preceded by an olfactory conference, hosted by Patricia de Nicolai, President of the Osmothèque de Versailles and Jean Kerléo, its founder.

The venerable François Coty Association

The Association François Coty, chaired by Véronique Coty, is dedicated to highlighting the extraordinary character of perfumery’s nobility to which its founder has contributed significantly. One of its major missions is to choose one laureate each year for the François Coty Award to reward a great perfumer. Perfumers qualify for the award if they have created a perfume of certain renown, launched the year prior to the award. The jury determines the laureate by smelling and evaluating the perfume anonymously. Former laureates include Jean Guichard, Sophie Labbé or Maurice Roucel.

True mastery in perfumery

For more than 20 years, Emilie Coppermann has been creating perfumes for the luxury class as well as niche brands. Initially, she was drawn to the idea of creating fascinating fragrances when she was 13 years old. She systematically pursued her dream and wound up studying chemistry. Her talent was recognized by Jean-Louis Sieuzac & Dominique Ropion, perfumers at Symrise (ex-Florasynth), who took her under his wing. They taught her the fundamentals of perfumery. Symrise Master Perfumer Maurice Roucel was another of her mentors.

Emilie is especially passionate about woody scents in all their diversity. They form the base fragrance in many of her creations. Alternately, strong, radiant, masculine and feminine notes come together to create impressive compositions. “We congratulate Emilie on the Prize. It emphasizes her outstanding talent as perfumer that is recognized by the industry. She inspires her colleagues with her own creative work and she created many winning fragrances for Symrise, making her a key factor for our fragrance’s success”, says Ricardo Omori, Senior VP Global Fine Fragrance at Symrise.
