Ferragamo Finanziaria, the holding company of the Ferragamo family and the controlling shareholder  of the luxury group, has appointed former Estée Lauder Companies’ chief executive Fabrizio Freda as special strategic adviser, sending ‌shares in the Italian luxury group as much as 1.6% higher in early trading.

Ferragamo Finanziaria controls 54.3% of the Florentine company, which has been trying to revive its performance.

Freda, ⁠who led ELC for nearly 16 years before retiring in 2024 will advise on strategic decisions and on strengthening the structure and operations of the Ferragamo Group and the family’s other businesses, with a view to creating value, the holding company said. He will also support the search for a new CEO at Salvatore Ferragamo. Ferragamo has been ‌without ⁠a CEO for more than a year after parting ways with Marco Gobbetti.

Freda, who currently sits on the board of BlackRock, could also be appointed to Salvatore Ferragamo’s board in the future, according ⁠to the press release.

“We are pleased to begin this collaboration with Fabrizio Freda…whose experience will represent an important contribution to our medium to ⁠long-term strategic reflections and to strengthening the entrepreneurial role of our family,” Diego di San Giuliano, chairman of Ferragamo ⁠Finanziaria, said in a statement.

Shares of Salvatore Ferragamo pared earlier gains to stand 0.6% at 0740 GMT, outperforming a mostly negative luxury sector.

Social media influencer Alix Earle has launched her very own skin care brand, Reale Actives. Available beginning March 31, the acne-focused skin care range launches with four products developed in collaboration between Earle and her dermatologist, Dr Kiran Mian. The products claim to support and strengthen sensitive, acne-prone skin, while simplifying overcomplicated routines, offering “a modern perspective” on attitudes towards acne.

“I started Reale Actives after years of struggling with acne and trying products that either did not work or were too harsh for my sensitive skin,” said Earle, who recently placed second on ABC’s reality television show Dancing With The Stars.

“I was constantly confused about what routine was actually right for me, and so many products felt overly clinical, complicated and honestly not very fun. Working closely with my dermatologist, we created a streamlined routine of clinically proven formulas that transformed my skin and my confidence. After dealing with cystic acne my whole life, I learned that consistency and a gentle approach are what finally helped me get it under control. These products keep my skin balanced through long days of filming, travel and heavy make-up. My hope is that Reale Actives helps people feel confident enough to live their lives fully – because your skin should not be the thing that holds you back,” she says.

The holidays have officially begun, and no one does them quite like Mariah Carey. Today, the undisputed Queen of Christmas and best-selling female artist of all time rings in the season with a glamorous new partnership with Sephora, uniting her signature sparkle with Sephora’s beauty expertise. As the clock struck midnight, Mariah declared “It’s Time!” in her much-anticipated annual video – this year, reimagined in collaboration with Sephora to bring fans a dazzling fusion of beauty and holiday magic.

Directed by Joseph Kahn, the cinematic video premiered across Mariah and Sephora’s Instagram accounts and on Sephora’s Times Square billboard, marking the official shift from Halloween to holiday for millions of fans worldwide. Set inside Mariah’s Sephora-branded glam room, the scene unfolds as a mischievous elf, played by Billy Eichner, tries to steal her beloved beauty essentials and derail the holiday festivities. In classic Mariah fashion, she triumphantly declares “It’s Time!” and takes off in a dazzling sleigh, soaring through a Sephora-inspired winter wonderland aglow with festive magic.

“The holidays are a time to celebrate and spread joy, I’m so excited to kick off the season with Sephora,” said Mariah Carey. “It’s all about creating those magical moments that make you feel glamorous from the inside out.”
