ASHLEE POSNER, CEO at Lucent Labs, will discuss RETHINKING NATURAL: THE RISE OF VALIDATED-SAFER SYNTHETICS IN FRAGRANCE. 

An in-depth discussion on the growing consumer shift from natural ingredients to a blend of natural and validated-safe synthetics in beauty products. With many natural ingredients containing allergens and sensitive skin concerns on the rise, the industry is prioritizing safety and irritation-free formulations. This trend is particularly evident in the fragrances being used in skincare, haircare, and body products, where synthetic alternatives are offering not only enhanced compatability but also improved sustainability. The discussion will focus around this shift is reshaping formulation practices and meeting the evolving demands of health-conscious and environmentally aware consumers.

ROBERT FULLER, Adjunct Professor at Muhlenberg College, will lead us in UNDERSTANDING OUR ESSENTIAL OIL.

How can you trust the quality of your Essential Oil?  Has it been adulterated?  Was it extracted and stored properly?  In lucrative business of essential oils, adulteration, sourcing and overall quality are serious issues.  We will be discussing some common forms of adulteration and how you can detect them.  Also the issue of essential oil stability will be discussed from a chemical perspective:  how it can arise from the extraction process and/or improper storage and how it can be prevented.

AMY MARKS-MCGEE, Founder at Trendincite LLC, will help us to STOP AND SMELL THE TRENDS: EXPLORING INNOVATIONS IN CONSUMER GOODS PACKAGED GOODS.

From pampering ourselves to our pets, this presentation focuses on trends in scented consumer packaged goods and services across market segments, such as fragrance, hair care, pet care, and oral care applications. It will examine marketplace activity and explore consumer behavior driving innovation.

DAN GREWE, General Manager at The Lebermuth Company, will discuss NATURAL VS. SYNTHETIC: CONSUMER PERCEPTIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND PRODUCTS BENEFITS.

Consumer interest in all-natural and naturally-derived ingredients is growing, but there is often confusion about what these terms truly mean—especially in comparison to synthetic alternatives. This presentation will explore consumer knowledge (and misconceptions) about these three fragrance types, define each category, and discuss their differences, benefits, and challenges as well as how these formulations align with consumer expectations.
