Laura Slatkin Steps Down at NEST New York
Laura Slatkin, Founder and Executive Chairman of NEST New York announced that she is stepping down from her day-to-day role. After a rewarding and successful journey, Slatkin has decided to focus on new entrepreneurial pursuits but will continue to serve on the company’s Board of Directors.
A pioneer in the world of fragrance, Slatkin created the first American luxury home fragrance company with the launch of Slatkin & Co. in the 1990s. After creating bespoke fragrances for over 100 luxury brands, she launched NEST New York in 2008. From the signature candle collection to category-expanding innovations such as the Eau de Parfum collection in 2013, Wellness Collection and Perfume Oils in 2021 and the recent launch of the VOYAGES collection, Slatkin, along with a talented NEST team, redefined the way consumers experience fragrance and helped transform NEST into a thriving lifestyle brand spanning home and fine fragrance, wellness, and personal care.
In 2019, Laura earned The Fragrance Foundation’s Game Changer Award and under her leadership, NEST has earned some of the industry’s highest honors, including WWD’s Beauty Market Maker of the Year. We are deeply grateful for Laura’s extraordinary contributions.
Following the successful acquisition of NEST by North Castle Partners, Laura’s transition marks a new chapter not only for herself but for the brand. Looking ahead, we remain focused on our strategic priorities of global expansion, premiumization, growing our fine fragrance business and elevating our hero products, building on the strong momentum our team has established over the last two years.
