Celebrating NYC’s annual spring spectacle of blooms, when flowers take center stage, Bond No 9 has launched New York Flowers.

There’s a common misconception that residents of the concrete jungle have limited access to nature, but any New Yorker will tell you otherwise. From Central Park to Little Island, ample outdoor space abounds year-round, but there’s no time like spring in New York, when the city is suddenly awash in a seasonal spectacle that signals winter is officially over.

Visitors from all over the world come to attend the legendary viewing party. In March, it’s typical to begin spotting cheerful daffodils and regal magnolias, and the celebration really kicks off in April when the city turns the gentle pink hue of cherry blossoms and the vivacious brights of tulips, a nod to New York’s Dutch heritage. As spring progresses, flowers of all kinds are a sight to see swaying proudly along Park Avenue and the High Line. And for the most spectacular displays, head to the New York Botanical Garden to experience a mesmerizing collection of carefully cultivated horticulture.

More recently, New Yorkers have enjoyed novel exposure to flower power thanks to the pop-up installations of Lewis Miller, also known as the “Banksy of Floral Design.” “I think I first noticed his work when he did a flash piece where he transformed city trash bins into voluminous, overflowing vases. “Genius and so New York!” says Bond No.9 Founder Laurice Rahmé. “I love that spirit of spreading beauty through flowers and I thought, why not do that in fragrance form?”

The New York Flowers fragrance honors not just the democracy of the city’s “public” botanicals, but also celebrates the spirit of joy, renewal, and the natural wonders that each spring brings to our town. In the fragrance world, florals reign supreme. But no two budding compositions are quite alike, and New York Flowers stands out as an especially exceptional specimen.

“This is what we call a ‘happy’ fragrance,” says Rahmé. “When I worked with our master perfumer, I said let’s create a celebratory scent that opens with sparkling notes, almost like popping the cork off of a bottle of champagne.” At the top, there’s juicy clementine and a splash of Kir Royale accord, a festive blend rounded out by lush, earthy green ivy leaves. At the heart of the juice is an exquisitely rich bouquet of tuberose, star jasmine, rose, and of course, the iconic red tulip. Creamy sandalwood, amber, and iris ground the floral middle in a luscious medley that represents the sophisticated, softer side of The Big Apple.

Bond No. 9’s famous Silhouette Bottle gets dressed up for the Easter parade by showcasing an abstract, gilded floral design inspired by misty pink and purple heart lisianthus flowers set against a crisp white backdrop that feels as cheerful and optimistic as a fresh spring frock.

Responsible packaging is a pillar of Bond No. 9, and we strive to offer consumers the option to choose without having to compromise on luxury. Bond No. 9’s iconic Silhouette Bottle is 100% recyclable and uses 50% recycled cullet during the manufacturing process. New York Flowers may be purchased in traditional packaging or in our sustainable packaging.

New York Flowers arrives on counter April 15th and will be sold at Bond No. 9 New York Boutiques, Saks Fifth Avenue nationwide, select Bloomingdale’s stores, Harrods UK, Selfridges UK

BOND NO. 9 NOMAD

Bond No. 9’s latest addition captures the

free spirit of New York’s dreamy wanderers.

Our great city—made of nomads from near and far—is back! Help us celebrate with the stunning new member of our tribe.

The newest member of our tribe features an exotic touch of the Mid East, but trust us, it smells just like home.

The city’s most branché neighborhood has a storied past. This fragrance speaks to the legendary opulence—past and present—North of Madison Square Park.

THE INSPIRATION

Renewal is in the air, and NYC has always been the epicenter of progress, evolution, and optimism. But perhaps no area in the Big Apple has been more emblematic of this than NoMad, one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods that has reinvented itself in so many incarnations it would make the Material Girl blush.

Long before New Yorkers were queuing up for their Shake Shack fix in the south end of the park, the city’s most elite residents flocked to NoMad in the mid-nineteenth century, paving the way for it to become one of Manhattan’s most fashionable neighborhoods and a showcase for French Renaissance revival and beaux-arts architecture. Then as is now, the area was also home to legendary hotels that became the “it” watering holes of the glamorous Gilded Age. The infamously luxurious Fifth Avenue Hotel built in 1859 became a staple, as did The Breslin (1904; now the Ace Hotel!) and The St. James (1874), among many others. And also, like today, NoMad hosted the town’s most fabulous restaurants, such as one especially rollicking incarnation of Delmonico’s where “Lobster Newburg” was born, and the Manhattan Club, which invented one of the world’s most popular cocktails… you guessed it, “The Manhattan.”

What goes up must come down, and the area experienced multiple metamorphoses, neglect, and old-fashioned hard times. Fast-forward to the Madison Square Park Foundation’s massive 2001 restoration project: As our favorite NYC neighborhoods so often do, the cat came back. The last two decades have sparked a frenzy for developers of chic hotels, restaurants, and grand residences, restoring the area’s reputation as the jewel of the Gilded Age into today’s hub of cool. In the words of our founder Laurice Rahmé, “This fragrance celebrates NoMad’s lifestyle and culture, but what it really and truly embodies is the past and present.”

THE COMPOSITION

NoMad’s beating heart is a strong, sensual, statement-making oud, a nod to the nomads of the Orient, but reimagined into what Rahmé calls “Americanized oud,” by adding modern fruity notes to the top instead of a traditional animalic, which is a unique presentation. Creamy pear and fresh black currant add a gourmand warmth, rounded out by luxurious amber and sandalwood, which gives this long-wearing juice as much staying power as NoMad itself.

THE PACKAGING

You want opulence? You got it. While the Moroccan-blue hue adds another allusion to the bohemian spirit of nomadic romanticism, a Gilded Age-era gold grid houses no less than 74 sparkling silver gems that shine as brightly as NoMad’s contemporary glass towers.

SUSTAINABILITY

Responsible packaging is a pillar of Bond No. 9, and we strive to offer consumers the option to choose without having to compromise on luxury. “The package-free initiative reflects our long-term efforts to build a beautiful and responsible brand and a beautiful city,” says Rahmé.

Bond No. 9’s iconic Silhouette Bottle is 100% recyclable and uses 50% recycled cullet during the manufacturing process.

NoMad may be purchased in traditional packaging or in our sustainable packaging.

AVAILABILITY

NoMad arrives on counter October 15, 2021 and will be sold at Bond No. 9 New York Boutiques, Saks Fifth Avenue nationwide, select Bloomingdales stores, Harrods UK, Selfridges UK and www.bondno9.com

“We’ve built a near-replica of our flagship boutique interior, complete with multi-lingual staff,” says Laurice Rahme, Founder of Bond No 9.

Bond No. 9 has opened a new shop and perfumerie at Bloomingdale’s flagship on 59th Street.  They believe this luxurious space will set a standard for the next generation of retail fragrance interiors.  Their latest shop features the entire line of Bond No. 9 New York-centric fragrances – 90 of them and counting – including new Off-Broadway, a sparkling, attention-getting unisex blend of grapefruit blossom and black currant.  The intermission, so to speak, presents luxurious lily, osmanthus and nutmeg.  As a finale, the overall composition takes a strong bow with musk, patchouli, sandalwood and vetiver.

Bond’s first shop at Bloomingdale’s, holds an appeal to New Yorkers as well as international shoppers, when travel opens up.  We’re situating ourselves in Bloomingdale’s newly-imagined fragrance floor, where guests can find Bond No. 9.  And best of all, it’s on the main level, just like home.

The details:  Bond No. 9’s new shop boutique outpost is a near-replica of our Bond Street, NoHo flagship, with identical smoky mirrors lining the built-in wall-niches, showcasing our vividly colored fragrance bottles and boxes displayed and reflected multiple times throughout the boutique-space.  The centerpiece, a custom blending table with lacquer-lipstick-red chairs for perusing our range of fragrances and Swarovski crystal-studded bottles and for personal consultation.  And front and center, a custom mannequin adorned with 20,000 Swarovski stones welcomes consumers in to the glamorous space.  What’s more, on hand to help our customer curate the perfect fragrance wardrobe or gift with our over 90 eaux de parfum, custom blends and Swarovski-on-demand will be our brilliant, Bloomingdale’s staff, who of course are multi-lingual.

This is New York, after all.

Introducing My New York, Bond No. 9’s latest homage to the world’s capital city.

From Africa to Asia, Europe and beyond, it doesn’t matter where you live: Everyone has their own NYC love story.

New York, New York, it’s a helluva town! Meet our new fragrance that begs the question: What is your New York?

Start spreading the news: It’s no secret that we’re obsessed with our hometown’s storied neighborhoods. Now, we’re ready to celebrate the whole city!

THE INSPIRATION

New York is and always has been an international phenomenon that means so much to so many people around the world. (Over a billion served and counting…) Think: Global. Diverse. Inclusive. Vibrant. United. Resilient. #StrongerTogether. Throughout its long and wild history, our “little town” has demonstrated time and time again that it’s truly New York Tough. Bond No. 9 was originally conceived as a positive, progressive creation born to rise up during the post- 9/11 period of hope. Today, we enter another time to pull together during a moment of intense change and ultimately, optimism, as we move forward.

“I honestly never thought that New York would experience a more challenging situation than 9/11,” says Bond No. 9 founder and president Laurice Rahmé. “It feels like the right moment to celebrate such a global, inclusive place with an equally inclusive fragrance. We’ve created scents for many great neighborhoods. It was about time we did something for the whole city!”

My New York conjures a magical aura of nostalgia made up of a spectrum of memories—past, present, and future—in its inherent concept. A first kiss under the arch in Washington Square Park. Your Sunday stroll down the Bowery. An unforgettable opera night at the Met. Or maybe it’s as simple and pure as that stirring rush of excitement as you hurtle across one of the iconic bridges that feed into the city. The looming skyscrapers grow closer and closer, and it doesn’t really matter whether you’re a local or visiting for the very first time. It’s that thrilling sense of, I’m home. We all know that feeling. As many of us have been living in a paused state of reflection, this fragrance begs the question: What is your New York?

THE COMPOSITION

No wafts of bagels or subway steam here. “This scent is abstract. It’s sexy and spicy, just like New York,” says Rahmé. All at once somewhat familiar yet totally sophisticated and wholly unorthodox, perfumer Michel Almairac built a unisex fragrance that appeals on a truly global level. The top explodes with an energizing burst of ginger and pink pepper, which simmers down into a rich rose heart. (“Yes, it is unisex, and yes, it has rose, which some people feel is traditionally feminine, but even Napoleon wore a cologne with rose notes!” quips Rahmé.) Finally, the base is lush with cashmeran, sandalwood, and patchouli, lending the composition a luxurious and grounding warmth.

THE PACKAGING

While the world was watching non-stop devastating news in the early days of the pandemic, something truly hopeful occurred in Brazil. Christ the Redeemer, Rio de Janeiro’s ever-present symbol (not so different our own Lady Liberty), stood solid as the images of flags from around the world were projected onto the statue’s façade in a sign of solidarity among nations affected by the virus. This awesome feat inspired My New York’s own packaging, which consists of a pastiche of various flags; among them: Japan, Great Britain, and Mexico, ranging to the tri-colored Pan-African flag developed in 1920, which represents not so much a territory but a symbolic union of Black people around the world. This design is overlaid by cursive handwriting, a nod to how personal My New York is, and the silhouette is outlined in our signature shade of royal blue.

Introducing TriBeCa: Downtown New York’s most exciting creative center rendered in olfactive form from Bond No. 9.

TriBeCa is having a moment. Meet the chic new fragrance that tells its story.

THE INSPIRATION

Whether you’re soaking up a reading at Poet’s House or a martini at The Odeon, there’s no question that the “Triangle Below Canal Street,” with its cobblestone streets, winsome alleys, and New York City’s coolest restaurants and boutiques, brings the charm. Today, the area is experiencing a modern renaissance as it’s being hailed as the city’s next major creative center. Almost devastated after 9/11, the area has flourished thanks to endeavors such as the TriBeCa Film Festival, and more recently, the TriBeCa Gallery Walk, making the downtown neighborhood both a local and global destination. Celebrities and families alike call TriBeCa home, and numerous galleries are migrating to its streets during a return to the area’s ‘70s-era artistic roots. “TriBeCa is being touted as the next big creative neighborhood of New York City. That’s what we’re interested in capturing,” says Bond No. 9 founder and president Laurice Rahmé. “It’s going through a true revolution.”

Architecture plays an important role on its streets, from its history of modernizing shipping warehouses and Art Deco buildings to creating internationally known landmarks such as One World Trade and the residential 56 Leonard Street, affectionately referred to as the “Jenga” building to residents. The area’s vast, inspiring spaces have long attracted artists of every level.

THE COMPOSITION

To construct a scent as unique as TriBeCa, Bond looked to Michel Almairac, the legendary nose behind a number of the house’s blockbuster fragrances, such as Lafayette Street, Madison Avenue and Gold Coast. “The style is a sexy, unisex, floriental, and it’s sophisticated and young, much like the residents of TriBeCa,” says Rahmé. The top notes have an irresistible gourmand appeal made of cacao and green hazelnut—cool and hip and somewhat reminiscent of the area’s many gourmet coffee houses—centered with the sultry and luxurious jasmine sambac from the South of France—another nod to the area’s global makeup—paired with a touch of grounding cedarwood. “It’s not quiet, and has a lot of character!” notes Rahmé. Ambroxan, moss, and creamy caramel round out as bottom notes, making for a scent that lives and breathes on the skin in warm, earthy tones.

THE PACKAGING

Call it an objet d’art: TriBeCa is housed in a sleek white, croc-embossed print that looks and feels as soft as leather to the touch, and includes iconic Bond No. 9 gold lettering. The result is a sublime, chic rendering of one of New York’s most sophisticated areas in bottled-form.

For Mother’s Day, Bond No. 9 will release a limited-edition, 100 ml bottle encrusted with 218 Swarovski sunflower and white crystal stones tracing the outlines of the iconic Bond No. 9 token, and sheathed in a box that features 486 Swarovski crystal stones.

SUSTAINABILITY

Responsible packaging is a pillar of Bond No. 9, and the company offers consumers the option to choose without having to compromise on luxury.  “The package-free initiative reflects our long-term efforts to build a beautiful and responsible brand and a beautiful city,” says Rahmé.

Bond No. 9’s iconic Silhouette Bottle is 100% recyclable and uses 50% recycled cullet during the manufacturing process.

TriBeCa may be purchased in traditional packaging or package-free.
