At the height of the global health crisis, Clarins Group is strengthening its solidarity.

Clarins will donate 30,000 moisturizing hand creams to hospitals in the following weeks.

In this particularly alarming context, the heroic daily actions of healthcare professionals have never mattered more. Day and night, their hands provide care and help, bringing hope and comfort. One of the ways to fight the spread of the epidemic is to disinfect hands by using hand sanitizer.

“This essential routine is hard on hands: as the skin’s protective hydrolipidic film becomes damaged, the skin suffers and becomes dry. The solution? Every night, before bed, when there is no more interaction with possible sources of contamination, I recommend applying a thick layer of moisturizing hand cream, to help replenish the skin’s protective barrier. In the coming weeks, as a way of supporting healthcare professionals in their fight against the epidemic, the Clarins Group will donate 30 000 moisturizing creams to hospitals.” stated Olivier Courtin-Clarins, Managing Director of the Clarins Group.

Clarins is continuing to produce and deliver hand sanitizer to hospitals. Right from the start of the crisis, they made their manufacturing resources available for the production of hand sanitizer, in optimum safety conditions to protect the health of their employees.

They have currently delivered more than 18,000 bottles (large-format 400ml) to AP-HP hospitals (Greater Paris University Hospitals) and one of their depots as well as to the Pontoise and Saint-Denis hospitals. They continue to face a high number of demands.

From now until the end of April, Clarins will produce 100 tons of hand sanitizer gel (the equivalent of approximately 200,000 bottles).

In the next few days, they will also do everything they can to respond to the demand from other hospitals around the world. They are calling for solidarity on their French web site, asking clients to participate in the Covid-19 Research Fund. When Clarins clients make an online purchase, they offer them the possibility of donating 1 euro in support of the AP-HP, at the frontlines of the fight against the epidemic. Thanks to their clients’ generosity, this emergency Fund can immediately mobilize the resources needed to support the teams of the AP-HP and coordinate their actions throughout 39 hospitals.

“Thank you to all who have contributed: our Production, Research and Development teams, our suppliers and carriers, who have also been supplied with hand sanitizer so that they too can continue protecting themselves. Without them, none of this would be possible,” Courtin-Clarins continued. “Thank you to our clients for their generosity and for as always, sharing the same values as we do.We hope, in this way, to be able to contribute to the extraordinary collective effort we are witnessing today.”

“In addition to our Global Initiative, we provided 962 full size units of our hand creams to hospitals in the New York Tri-state area which are providing care to COVID-19 patients,” stated Danyelle Boilard-Paul, EVP, General Manager, Clarins Group USA, who personally made some of the deliveries, herself.

These tri-state hospitals include:

New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus (first responders test site)

Greenwich Hospital

White Plains Hospital

Valley Hospital

South Nassau Hospital

Mercy Hospital

Mount Sinai West

New York Presbyterian

Bellevue Hospital
