Remembering Industry Veteran David Horner

David Horner (1939-2021)  It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Norman Horner.  After a long and courageous battle, cancer took his life.  He died peacefully at his home in West Palm Beach, with his wife by his side on March 20, 2021.  He is survived by his wife Pamela Friedman; his son John Horner and daughter-in-law Christina Horner; his grandchildren Courtney Horner,  Alexis Horner, and Shaine Lankamp.  He is also survived by his brother Charles Horner and sister-in-law Constance Horner.

His intellect, talent, humor, generosity, creativity, and genius will be remembered.  He is one of the most respected and well-known creative and strategic minds in the cosmetics and fragrance industry with an exceptional record of accomplishments.  He is perhaps best known for his role in co-founding the award-winning Giorgio fragrance business in the early 80’s, which broke industry records for sales. From there he went on to be president of Halston-Borghese from 1991-1993 before establishing his own management consulting practice, where he served in an advisory capacity to major consumer products companies around the world.  He also advised companies, investments firms and private investor groups on acquisitions and strategic marketing in the consumer products field including Unilever, where he was intimately involved in projects with Princess Diana, Madonna, and Tiger Woods.  He also created the Grace de Monaco prestige fragrance collection for Faberge, where he collaborated with the Royal Family of Monaco.  He worked closely with Pierre Cardin for many years and played an important role in the acquisition of the Nautica fragrance brand from Revlon.  He developed Halston Catalyst for Men, which was honored twice by the Fragrance Foundation at its annual awards ceremony and Caesar’s World fragrance for the Forum Shops.  Earlier in his career, he held key management positions at Max Factor International division, Helena Rubinstein International division, and Revlon. He began his career as Assistant to the President of Whitehall Laboratories.

David had a passionate interest in music, history, food, golf and spirited discussions.  His lively personality and positive spirit will be missed.
